Tip #1 Trim it!!
Trimming your hair is important, it eliminates split ends and stops them from speeding higher!
I like to trim my hair every 3-4 weeks depends if I remember lol, I trim about an inch and I use very basic scissors.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this your self, have someone help you or get it professionally done.
Tip #2 Clean it
So of course washing and conditioning your hair is also part of maintaining a healthy scalp which can result in a healthy mane lol. I've tried many different shampoos and conditioners but because my hair gets dyed a lot I felt like I needed a more powerful formula! Im using a duo called Silicon Mix Bambu. They were about $5 each, they each claim to have bamboo extract that helps regenerate and nourish the hair, prevents hair breakage and split ends. They smell a little funny but its not so bad, the shampoo seems to have the same consistency as other shampoos while the conditioner is a bit ticker than your average.
Tip #3 Protect it
I use soooo much heat on my hair, to straighten it, to curl it, to crimp it, you name it, and so using a heat protecting spray is very useful! I'm currently using the Garnier Fructis Flat Iron Perfector and even though this one is specific to straighten your hair, I use it every time I use heat on my hair. It's really inexpensive and does the job right.
Tip #4 Feed it!
Biotin pills are the secret I wished I discovered a long time ago, they work wonders. These caplets can help your hair grow faster and stronger, (not to mention that they're also good for your skin and nails). I had a very dry scalp due to extremely hot showers, dyes and other things that weren't good for me so I went to my dermatologist and he recommended these to me so there is a professional opinion here, not just me babbling! Lol. Although they are bigger than most pills and they have a horrible aftertaste, I must say they are worth it!. There are many different brands but the bottle I use is Nature's Bounty Biotin Coated Caplets (250) 5000mcg
Tip #5 restore it
Your hair will feel extra soft and shiny, I love knowing I helped my hair a little ^_^!
So there are the 5 things I try to do constantly, sometimes I forget to do some, sometimes I'm really good and do them all hehe..
Remember that we all want beautiful healthy hair and although it's not always fun to do some procedures, in the end, it's all worth it!
Lots of mermaid kisses!
